Yesterday, my family packed up our bags and took a nine hour drive down to Tennessee to see family. My family lives right outside of Memphis so we have plans to spend a few days downtown exploring The Peabody, eating great BBQ, and touring music factories and studios. I have been to Memphis many times before, but I am excited about the new places we will see on this trip.
Because we will only be here for another day or so, I had to pack light on this trip. I didn’t mind it, though. I love trying to see how much I can fit into a tiny suitcase. (I once brought a giant hammock home from Honduras in a tiny little carry-on!!) It’s like a game of Tetrus to me. Anyone else reading this that understands what I mean? Comment down below if you do!
Just because you can’t pack everything, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bring the things you love. On this trip, I decided to bring basic pieces like these Madewell Jeans and great accessories like this vintage gold neck tie. I packed travel essentials like my bible + journal, comfortable shoes, my wallet, hand lotion, and a wall charger. I also brought this new green flannel shirt with me (that is currently on sale for $17 here) because I live in oversized shirts and leggings when in the car on long road trips.
I know there are many other travel essentials – especially when you head out on a longer or out of country trip. What are some of your essentials? Any great travel tips you would like to share?
Happy (ALMOST) New Year!
